How does the Google Index work?

As basis for the Google Index is a huge database. It can be compared to a library, which contains numerous books. To find the desired book with a title or in a category, a database query is required. The computer already shows where the book is located and, if necessary, gives a short description. This is exactly the principle on which Google's index works!

The Google Index database works dynamically throughout. This means that there is a constant expansion and updating of the data it contains. The necessary information for the updates is provided by Googlebots (crawlers)which permanently search the Internet for new websites or changes.

For example, if a Googlebot has discovered a new sub-page on a domain, it compares it with the index. At the same time, the Googlebot analyzes the content of the page to see whether it might match a particular search query (keyword). Once all this is done, the page is added to the Google index and is available immediately.

In order to appear in the Google index, the application of SEO (search engine optimization) Marketing is necessary. This is the only way to signal to the search engine that it is interesting and offers useful as well as relevant content. Here Google's guidelines play an important role, in which all important tips and information about SEO are listed.
